Saudi Arabia"s courts have held more than 957,000 judicial sessions in 2023 with 97% of the sessions being held remotely through the Najiz platform. The judicial sessions were conducted by the Kingdom’s courts of various specializations, such as general, penal, commercial, labor, and the personal status courts. The Saudi courts have also issued 360,000 court rulings since the start of 2023 until now. The Ministry of Justice has worked to enhance the institutional judiciary and develop the justice system through conducting several initiatives and procedures such as structuring courts, launching of model courts and many more. Justice Minister Walid Al-Samaani, meanwhile, has issued directives for the launch of virtual notary public to provide remote documentation services without the need to personally visit judicial offices. This electronic service saves time and effort for the beneficiaries, it was pointed out. The virtual notary public system is set to serve individuals and establishments as it allows them to complete services related to agencies, affidavits, and real estate in total digital procedures.
