RIYADH: The Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants will offer a fellowship examination to outstanding graduates from accounting programs in August. Those who receive the free grants have the chance to display their skills and become eligible for the fellowship program. By partnering with Saudi universities, the initiative aims to promote and strengthen national talent in the accounting field. Ahmed Al-Meghames, the organization’s CEO, said that the collaboration underscores its commitment to nurturing accounting graduates and fostering strong ties with academic institutions. The exam — one of several initiatives unveiled at the International Conference on Accounting Education in January this year — will grant 10 fellowships to each university. It will be administered in 11 cities across the Kingdom, with 262 students from 39 universities selected to take part in the initial phase. The fellowship program is highly valued by the business community in the Kingdom, amid a growing need for qualified professionals in the fields of accounting and financial auditing, according to Al-Meghames. Graduates from Saudi universities who have completed a bachelor’s degree in accounting are eligible for the fellowships.
