Jude Bellingham again proved Real Madrid’s match-winner, scoring in added time to snatch a 2-1 La Liga victory over Getafe as the Spanish giants played their first home game at the Bernabéu this season. Borja Mayoral pened the scoring for the visitors in the 11th minute with a tidy finish after a mistake by the defender Fran Garcia but Joselu equalised from close range after the break. Madrid put Getafe under relentless pressure until Bellingham, La Liga’s top scorer, was in the right place at the right time to net from a rebound off the goalkeeper David Soria, who could not hold on to a Lucas Vázquez strike from distance. Bellingham has five goals and has scored in all four matches for his new club. “It was a difficult match and it was even more difficult because we conceded a goal early. This doesn’t change my thoughts about Fran Garcia, maybe he paid the price for the fascination with the stadium,” said the Real coach, Carlo Ancelotti. “The second half was different, we had chances and in the end I think we deserved to win with a goal from Bellingham who is used to winning.” Real Sociedad beat Granada 5-3, Takefusa Kubo scoring twice for the hosts, while Alavés defeated Valencia 1-0 thanks to an early own goal from Cenk Özkacar. Madrid top the table on 12 points, five ahead of Atlético Madrid, Girona and Barcelona, who have yet to play this weekend, and Cádiz, after they beat Villarreal 3-1 on Friday. The Bayern Munich substitute Mathys Tel headed an 87th-minute goal to grab a 2-1 victory at Borussia Mönchengladbach and end his side’s five-game winless run against the hosts to secure their third victory in three Bundesliga matches. Bayern, who had failed to beat Gladbach in their previous five matches in all competitions, came from a goal down to snatch the win and move to nine points. Bayern were in complete control with more than 70% possession for the first half hour before the home side struck against the run of play with Ko Itakura’s looping header sailing over the goalkeeper Sven Ulreich from a corner. Gladbach had earlier hit the woodwork through Marvin Friedrich but Bayern came close to an equaliser when Leroy Sané’s powerful shot was tipped on to the crossbar by Moritz Nicolas. The visitors upped the pressure after the break, missing early chances through Leon Goretzka and Thomas Müller, before Joshua Kimmich floated a perfect chip for Sané who stabbed home to level. Serge Gnabry should have added another in the 70th minute but his point-blank header was blocked by Nicolas. Tel did much better with three minutes left to play, rising above his marker to head the winner. Borussia Dortmund had slipped up with a 2-2 home draw against promoted Heidenheim on Friday, while Bayer Leverkusen made it three wins in a row with a 5-1 demolition of Darmstadt on Saturday. Lazio’s Luis Alberto and Daichi Kamada secured a 2-1 win for last season’s runners-up at the champions, Napoli, in Serie A to earn Maurizio Sarri’s side their first points of the season, while the hosts suffered their first defeat. Napoli sealed comfortable wins over Frosinone and Sassuolo in their opening two games but lacked precision in what was expected to be their first real test under their new coach, Rudi Garcia, who took over from Luciano Spalletti in June. The hosts flew out of the traps, testing Lazio’s defence with a flurry of shots as both Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia had chances. But Lazio shocked the crowd by scoring against the run of play on the half-hour when Luis Alberto scored with a cheeky backheel after good work by Felipe Anderson down the right. Napoli quickly recovered to level two minutes later through the Poland midfielder Piotr Zielinski whose deflected low shot went in past Ivan Provedel. The pace did not slow down after the break as both sides pressed to grab the winner and Kamada restored Lazio’s lead in the 52nd minute by firing into the far bottom corner for his first goal in Serie A after joining in August. The visitors also had a further two goals ruled out for offside. Napoli are fourth in the table with six points from three games while Lazio, who began this week inside the relegation zone following defeats by Lecce and Genoa, are 12th with three from three.
