2nd phase of rehabilitation program to serve the Two Holy Mosques' visitors begins

– The implementation of the second phase of the rehabilitation program to serve Umrah pilgrims and visitors to the Two Holy Mosques in Makkah and Madinah has started the Health Volunteer Center at the Ministry of Health announced. The center clarified that the program is targeting 700 male and female volunteers who are medical practitioners in addition to 70 supervisors from experts and academics. The program comes within the Meras, the Health Service-Learning Project (H.S.L.P), launched recently by the center. The program applies the latest methodologies that integrate medical education and service-learning into targeted volunteer health opportunities during the Hajj and Umrah seasons. The project aims to raise the efficiency, effectiveness of performance, quality and reliability of the volunteer health services provided to visitors of the Two Holy Mosques. This move comes as part of the efforts to raise the efficiency of volunteering and enhance its impact. It is noteworthy that more than 1,000 volunteers and 70 supervisors participated in the rehabilitation program. There were 300 volunteers and 35 supervisors during the first phase in this year"s Hajj season 2023. Meras program is considered as a promising mean to learn several things such as community service and acquisition of life skills. This is in addition to enhancing professional identity and the national affiliation of the health volunteer, as well as highlighting a bright aspect of humanitarian services for those visiting the Two Holy Mosques.
