On behalf of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan led on Tuesday the Saudi delegation participating in the high-level General Debate at the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 78) in New York. The Saudi delegation included Saudi Ambassador to the United States Princess Reema bint Bandar; Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Member of the Cabinet and Envoy for Climate Affairs Adel Al-Jubeir; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Multiple International Affairs Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Rasi; the Kingdom’s Permanent Representative to UN in New York Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Wasel; and Director General of the Office of Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdul Rahman Al-Daoud. The annual UN high-level General Debate is being held under the theme of “Rebuilding trust and reigniting global solidarity: Accelerating action on the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals towards peace, prosperity, progress and sustainability for all.” On the sidelines of the General Assembly session, Prince Faisal is attending a number of ministerial meetings that are scheduled within the framework of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the Arab League. As part of this, he actively participated on Monday in a significant ministerial meeting that brought together the delegates of GCC and the United Kingdom. Prince Faisal is also participating in several official meetings to discuss the latest international developments and global efforts aimed at further strengthening the foundations of international peace and security. Issues related to human development, preserving the planet Earth, and achieving sustainable development goals will also figure high in the meetings.
