RIYADH: Civil defense authorities have warned of an ongoing risk of thunderstorms across most of Saudi Arabia, throughout the week, state news agency SPA reported on Sunday. The General Directorate of Civil Defense called for caution and and advised people to stay in safe places, away from areas prone to flooding – adding that people should not swim in flood waters. Saudi authorities said the Makkah region: Taif, Maysan, Adham, and Al-Ardiyat, as well as the regions of Asir, Jazan, and Al-Baha would see moderate to heavy rains, potentially leading to torrential downpours, hail, and strong winds stirring up dust. Dust storms are also likely in Al-Jamoum and Al-Kamel, with similar conditions also expected in the regions of Madinah, the Northern Border, Al-Jawf, Tabuk and Hail.
