RIYADH: A Saudi man was shot dead and his wife injured in an attack in the Philippines, the Saudi Embassy in Manila reported. The couple were attacked while driving in the Sharif Aguak area in the southern province of Maguindanao, according to the embassy’s statement. The attacker is yet to be identified. The embassy said it is following up on the situation with the Filipino authorities and monitoring the woman’s condition after she was taken to hospital near the site of the attack. It is also coordinating with authorities to return the man’s body to the Kingdom. The embassy has offered its condolences to the victim’s family.
