The production of new lower-carbon energy technologies requires the production of innovative new materials, including: nonmetallics to manufacture solar panels graphene to create ultra-efficient hydrogen fuel cells graphite as anode materials for lithium-ion batteries carbon fiber for wind turbine blades As the world’s population grows, so does the demand for materials. To produce the chemicals needed for these materials, we work on exploring methods to convert hydrocarbons into petrochemicals like polymers and the potential of using captured CO2 to produce carbon-based materials enabling us to help meet the demand for durable advanced materials with lower life-cycle emissions. We aim to continue contributing to the materials transition to help ensure a balanced and orderly energy transition.
