Daniel Farke believes Crysencio Summerville can keep improving after the forward scored twice in Leeds’ 4-1 Championship thrashing of Huddersfield at Elland Road. The Dutchman also set up one of Dan James’ two goals as Leeds raced into a 4-0 lead during a dominant first-half display, but Farke said the 21-year-old must keep developing his game. “It is about consistency, so it’s a really good week in terms of end product but come on, keep going. It is necessary for a young player to develop so that he is getting goals and assists.” Harry Winks’ late goal gave Leicester a 2-1 victory over 10-man QPR and maintained their five-point lead at the top of the table. After Stephy Mavididi opened the scoring, Andre Dozzell equalised shortly before the interval, but was sent off early in the second half. QPR, who have now lost six matches in succession and remain one off the bottom of the table, battled hard, but the Foxes eventually made their numerical advantage count with 10 minutes left. It was QPR’s sixth straight defeat in the league, resulting in the sacking of head coach Gareth Ainsworth. High-flying Ipswich came from a goal down to stretch their unbeaten run to nine games with a 3-2 victory over Plymouth. Morgan Whittaker scored a stunning opener for the visitors after seven minutes but Town equalised with time running out in the first half through an own goal by the former Norwich full-back Bali Mumba, and George Hirst gave them the lead just after the break. The Ipswich goalkeeper, Vaclav Hladky, came to the rescue as Argyle pressed during the closing stages, but Marcus Harness struck in the 86th minute to put the game beyond Argyle, despite a late reply from Joe Edwards. Sunderland ended a run of three successive league defeats with a deserved 3-1 victory over Norwich, who are now winless in their last five games. Hwang Ui-jo gave Norwich the lead against the run of play just after the midway stage of the first half, but Sunderland hit back with goals from Trai Hume and Dan Neil before the break and the league’s top scorer, Jack Clarke, secured the victory from the spot with his ninth goal of the season 10 minutes from time. The victory lifted Sunderland to seventh, but Norwich’s tumble continues. David Wagner’s side have now won just one of their last eight games and are down to 17th. Southampton made it three defeats from three for the Birmingham manager Wayne Rooney, securing a 3-1 win courtesy of goals from Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Carlos Alcaraz and Adam Armstrong. Jay Stansfield grabbed one back before Armstrong’s decisive third. Perry Ng continued his scoring run as Cardiff beat Bristol City 2-0 and moved in to the top five. Ng has scored only 12 goals in a league career spanning eight years, but three of them have come in the last six games. The full-back’s first-half header put Cardiff in front and the substitute Rubin Colwill sealed matters in stoppage time with a thumping shot into the roof of the net. Jaden Philogene’s superb second-half strike condemned faltering Preston to a 1-0 defeat at Hull. North End are now seven games without victory after Philogene, who scored in similarly impressive fashion against Birmingham on Wednesday, let rip with a powerful low hit after 68 minutes. The England Under-21 international was the standout performer in a scrappy game as Hull ended a frustrating run of home form to move into the play-off positions. Stoke rounded off a wonderful week in style as they ended Middlesbrough’s six-game winning run with a 2-0 victory at the Riverside. Alex Neil’s side had beaten Sunderland and Leeds in the seven days before their trip to Teesside, and they claimed another notable scalp through Michael Rose’s early headed effort from a corner and Mehdi Leris’ angled finish shortly before the interval. A header from the substitute Mileta Rajovic two minutes into added time rescued a point for Watford in a feisty 2-2 draw with Millwall at Vicarage Road. The Danish forward nodded in an Imran Louza cross to cancel out a late Wes Harding header and keep both sides entrenched in mid-table. An error from Bartosz Bialkowski had helped the home side into a seventh-minute lead when the Pole failed to hold an Edo Kayembe shot. Jake Cooper’s attempted clearance then cannoned back into the net off Yáser Asprilla. Millwall equalised when Casper De Norre sent a cross into the area which Tom Bradshaw flicked on for Zian Flemming to stoop and nod in at the far post. Liam Cullen scored the only goal as Swansea beat Blackburn 1-0 for their first Ewood Park victory since 1971. The Welshman’s second of the season – a fine curling strike in the 28th minute – was the perfect response to a fast Rovers start that saw Callum Brittain and Sammie Szmodics both spurn chances to put the hosts ahead.
