The Hamas-controlled health ministry in Gaza says more than 30 people were killed in an Israeli bombing of the Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza late on Saturday, Agence France-Presse reports. Drone footage showed several buildings in a residential area flattened, as people waded through the rubble to retrieve people buried beneath it. The camp is located in an area the Israeli Defence Force declared a safe zone for civilians fleeing northern Gaza, which has been the focus of its military operation against Hamas. An Israeli military spokesperson said it was looking into whether the IDF had been operating in the area at the time of the bombing.
