JEDDAH: Products reflecting the creativity and potential of industrial designers in the Kingdom are being displayed at the Downtown Design Fair in Dubai under a “Designed in Saudi” label. Saudi Arabia’s Architecture and Design Commission is taking part in the fair, which is being held from Nov. 8-11. Each product featured in the commission’s pavilion underwent a thorough evaluation by a panel of international and local experts before being awarded the “Designed in Saudi” brand. The “Designed in Saudi” initiative is expected to boost the Kingdom’s industrial design sector by fostering and supporting local talent in product design. By joining the fair, the commission aims to give Saudi designers an international platform to showcase and promote their creations. The fair also allows designers to exchange ideas and experience with world counterparts. Downtown Design Fair is showcasing contemporary design and innovations in the Middle East, attracting design experts, practitioners, students, studios, and companies. As one of the 11 commissions under the Ministry of Culture, the Architecture and Design Commission is dedicated to developing and promoting the sector, supporting practitioners, and aligning with Saudi Vision 2030 and the ministry’s objectives for broader cultural goals in Saudi Arabia.
