A Saudi court sentenced an Arab national to two years in prison after convicting him of committing adulteration in veterinary preparations. The court also ordered deportation of the expatriate after serving his jail term. The Economic Crimes Wing at the Public Prosecution carried out investigations into the charges against the Arab national with regard to violation of the Veterinary Products Law in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states and the Anti-Commercial Fraud Law. It was revealed in investigations that the accused manufactured adulterated and unregistered veterinary preparations and printed forged packaging logos on them, and stored and transported them in violation of the approved standards. This is done for the purpose of trading, which resulted in harming the health of the livestock. The Public Prosecution reiterated that it will not show leniency to anyone who practices such criminal behaviors that affect the protection of livestock, and will demand to award them statutory penalties
