Madinah Municipality announced the opening of the bridge at the intersection of Prince Nayef Bin Abdulaziz Road and Al Salam Road. The opening was announced after the completion of the existing works on the project, which has a length of 1,250 linear meters. The bridge is considered one of the important bridges that will contribute to facilitating traffic movement and solving traffic congestion at the intersection. It will also facilitate the smooth flow of movement for Madinah’s residents and visitors to several places, including to and from the Prophet’s Mosque, the King Salman International Convention Center, the western neighborhoods of Madinah, Taibah University, the Islamic University, as well as many of Madinah’s landmarks, such as the blessed Aqeeq Valley (Wadi Aqeeq), and the Holy Qur’an Printing Complex. The bridge was constructed with more than 2,400 cubic meters of reinforced concrete and 6,500 tons of rebar. The bridge includes 3 lanes and service lanes in each direction, as well as a reversible lane, and a traffic light under the bridge. The Madinah Municipality explained that the humanization of the area surrounding the bridge had been enhanced, in addition to laying a frequency transport route, bicycle paths, and carrying out agricultural and afforestation works. It is noteworthy that the Municipality is implementing many bridge and tunnel projects, which will contribute to improving intersections, raising the efficiency of the road network in the region, and reducing traffic congestion in many locations.
