Serbian striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, from Al-Hilal, praised the Riyadh Derby as the best derby in his professional life. Mitrovic scored two late goals in the match, adding to his teammate Serbian international Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s goal in the 64th minute, securing a 3-0 victory over arch-rival Al-Nassr in the presence of their captain Cristiano Ronaldo on Friday night. The spectacular match, watched by over 50,000 fans at King Fahd International Stadium and millions worldwide on television, saw league leaders Al-Hilal claim three points and extend their lead over second-placed Al-Nassr to seven points. Mitrovic said after the game: “To be honest, I don’t think I’ve played in a better derby. It was amazing, truly amazing. I’ve played derbies in many countries, but if this isn’t the best, it’s definitely at the top. “The pressure before the match, the atmosphere with the fans before the match, was truly amazing and something special.” With his brace against Al-Nassr, Mitrovic increased his goal tally to 13 goals in 13 matches in the Saudi league since joining from Fulham in the summer. He added: “I think we scored the first goal at the right time, and we defended really well as a team. “The second goal killed the game, and the third goal as well. I could have even scored a hat-trick with a bit of luck. Our fans make me happy, and I hope to continue making them happy.”
