Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the late Emir of Kuwait, was laid to rest on Sunday with the current Emir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah leading the funeral procession. Among the mourners were prominent figures such as Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and other members of the esteemed Al-Sabah Family. Earlier in the day, Emir Sheikh Mishal performed prayers for the late Emir at the Belal Bin Rabah Mosque in the Siddeeq district. The ceremony was attended by National Assembly Speaker Ahmad Al-Saadoun, senior sheikhs, government officials, and citizens. Additionally, absentee funeral prayers were held for the late Emir at the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah on Sunday. These prayers, performed after the Dhuhr prayers, symbolized the profound loss felt across the Arab and Islamic worlds. In Kuwait, mosques also conducted absentee funeral prayers in memory of Sheikh Nawaf. Attendees offered prayers and expressed their deep respect and gratitude for the late Emir, who was revered as a statesman and father figure throughout his tenure, guiding Kuwait with wisdom and compassion.
