SOCPA refers membership applicants with forged certificates to Public Prosecution

Okaz/Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — The Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants (SOCPA) has referred a number of people, who applied for its membership by submitting forged certificates, to the Public Prosecution. The organization rejected their applications after detecting that the certificates submitted by them are forged ones. The SOCPA reiterated its keenness to ensure integrity and credibility of the documents and information received by it. The organization also affirmed its continued efforts to enhance the transparency and integrity of its work by taking firm measures against violators of regulations. “This measure is taken to protect the accounting and auditing profession and to ensure the quality and competence of those practicing the profession. It is also to confirm the organization’s commitment to combating such violations and ensuring the employment of those with reliable qualifications in the field of auditing and accounting,” it said in a statement. It should be noted that one of the most prominent roles of the organization in regulating the accounting and auditing profession is to grant membership to those affiliated with the profession with the aim of enhancing belongingness to a reliable accounting community capable of carrying out its roles with professionalism and high efficiency
