KSrelief chief meets Omani envoy to Saudi Arabia

RIYADH: Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, supervisor-general of the Saudi aid agency KSrelief, met the ambassador of Oman Saudi Arabia, Sayyid Faisal bin Turki Al-Said, in Riyadh on Monday. During the meeting, the two sides discussed relief and humanitarian affairs. The ambassador praised the humanitarian efforts exerted by Saudi Arabia, through KSrelief, to assist people in need around the world. This week, Al-Rabeeah also held meetings with Malaysian Ambassador Datuk Wan Zaidi Wan Abdullah and Mauritius Ambassador Shaukat Ali Soudhan. They discussed relief and humanitarian affairs, along with humanitarian work in Malaysia and Mauritius. Since its inception in 2015, KSrelief has implemented 2,670 projects worth more than $6.5 billion in 95 countries, in cooperation with 175 local, regional and international partners. According to a report by the agency, the bulk of the support has gone to Yemen ($4.3 billion), Syria ($391 million), Palestine ($370 million) and Somalia ($227 million). KSrelief’s programs cover food security, health, sanitation, shelter, nutrition, education, telecommunications and logistics.
