LONDON: Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim held a phone call with Prime Minister of the Caretaker Government of Lebanon Najib Mikati, the state-run QNA news agency reported on Friday. During the call, they discussed the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories. Sheikh Mohammed stressed the danger of attempts aiming to drag Lebanon into a regional war, emphasizing that the widening scope of violence and the circle of conflict in the region would have severe consequences if expanded, particularly in Lebanon and neighboring countries. He underscored the urgent need for the international community to take immediate action to stop Israeli violations of international law. Sheikh Mohammed also held a similar phone call with Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian. He stressed to the Iranian minister the need to work on an immediate cease-fire and protect civilians in Gaza. He also expressed his condolences for the victims of the recent explosions in Iran’s Kerman province and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
