JAZAN: Saudi border guards in Al-Dayer, Jazan, have foiled an attempt to smuggle 120 kg of qat. Preliminary legal procedures have been completed and the seized consignment handed over. The General Directorate of Narcotics Control has also arrested a Yemeni resident in Jeddah for trying to sell 122,200 narcotic tablets. Legal procedures have been initiated and a man has been referred to the Public Prosecution. Anyone with information about suspected drug smuggling or trafficking is urged by security officials to call 911 in Eastern Province, Makkah and Riyadh, or 999 in other regions.
