For the latest updates, follow us @ArabNewsSport Nagham Abu Samrah, 24, who was in a coma, died in Al-Aqsa Martyrs hospital in Deir Al-Balah. She was due to be evacuated to Egypt after losing her leg in the attack on Dec. 17, which also killed her sister. However, permission for her to be moved was not granted. Abu Samrah’s death came on the 100th day of hostilities between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, after the Palestinian militant group launched an attack on Israel on Oct. 7. Tens of thousands of Palestinians have died or been wounded since then. Last month, Abu Samrah’s father, Marwan Abdullah Abu Samrah, told Sky News: “I am ruined. Nagham is my life and my spirit.” He added that after the death of his other daughter in the missile strike and the death of their mother in the weeks before the conflict’s outbreak, Nagham’s survival had offered him “a glimmer of hope.” He added: “Nagham’s dream was to inspire generations of girls to do karate. “The strike ruined all her dreams. The only dream left is for her dad who dreams about hearing her voice.”
