In this era of rising misinformation, I should lay out some truly resilient facts. Global oil demand reached record levels in 2023, and it is expected to hit another all-time high this year. That brings me to the Davos 24 theme of “Rebuilding Trust.” But that can only happen when we have the facts straight and accept them. Oil and gas is of fundamental importance for the world. Aramco and many of our industry friends are serious about meeting our net-zero ambitions and prefer to let the facts do the talking. Aramco will more than double the size of our corporate venture capital fund to more than $7 billion. This will expand our focus beyond early-stage startups, and now we will also invest in a lot of late-stage startup sustainability, digital, and industrial ventures.
