Makkah Halal Forum to kick off on Tuesday

The Makkah Halal Forum, which will kick off on Tuesday, will explore promotion of halal industries by presenting global experiences. The three-day event will be held under the patronage of Minister of Commerce Dr. Majed Al-Qasabi at the Exhibition and Events Center of the Makkah Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Senior officials of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority, the Islamic Chamber for Halal Services Company, and the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization, will attend the forum, which comes in line with the trends of Saudi Arabia related to halal industries, and its goals of supporting national economic growth and participating in its diversification. The forum will see a number of discussion sessions aimed at covering aspects of the halal industries, and enabling business owners to clarify the precise images of the halal products that fall under major sectors such as the Islamic finance sector, the halal food sector, the Islamic tourism sector, the pharmacy and pharmaceutical industries sector, the beauty sector, logistics and marketing services sector, technical sector and medical equipment sector. On Tuesday, the forum will witness four discussion sessions, the first of which includes “Successful models in the halal industry,” which sheds light on innovation, promotion, and marketing of halal products, and presents case studies of specific experiences in the halal industry, followed by the second session on “Global experiences in the halal industry,” which focuses on regulatory, legislative, legal, developmental and economic experiences in the halal industry. The third session would discuss “Innovation in marketing and commercial excellence in the travel and tourism industry. It will address the importance of innovation in the halal travel and tourism services industry, information and communication technology and the travel industry, and mechanisms for enhancing cooperation between companies and institutions in the travel and tourism industry. The fourth session titled “Development and transformation of the halal Industry by presenting visions and challenges,” would review the best practices and successful models for innovation, development and marketing in the halal industry. The forum will be accompanied by exchange sessions for bilateral relations of business owners (B2B) with the aim of enhancing cooperation between them, and attracting new opportunities and innovative businesses that contribute to the growth of halal industries
