DUBAI: US actress and author Mayim Bialik, famous for her role in “The Big Bang Theory,” received criticism on social media this week after sharing a video reacting to a clip by comedian Dan Ahdoot who was talking about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. For the latest updates, follow us on Instagram @arabnews.lifestyle “Remixing my reaction to @standupdan because it was making me laugh so hard — I thought you should see how hard I was laughing and maybe you need a laugh from Dan Ahdoot too,” she captioned her video on Instagram. Bialik, who was dropped as a host of US game show “Jeopardy!” in December 2023, turned off her comments section, but US actor David Krumholtz, who starred in “Oppenheimer,” took to X to share her video. “This is sickening. Children are dying daily. People are being held hostage. Trauma and hate festering, reaching new levels on both sides. And Blossom over here is in stitches. GROSS,” he said, referring to her role in 1990s TV show “Blossom.” Journalist David Ehrlich posted: “Truly some of the most demented s*** I’ve ever seen on this or any website.” Late last year, Bialik was asked about the possibility of a cease fire while appearing in a TikTok video with Israeli actress Noa Tishby. She responded: “No country in the world would be asked to stop protecting itself under attack from all of its borders.” Ahdoot was also criticized when he shared the clip on X. “You should be cancelled! Making fun of genocide,” wrote journalist Emma Brain. The ongoing Israeli military operation in Gaza has seen 27,000 Palestinians killed. Israel’s air and ground operation in Gaza began after a Oct. 7 attack by Hamas that saw 1,200 Israelis killed and more than 200 taken captive, held in return for Palestinians held in Israeli prisons.
