DUBAI: Saudi model Rumy Al-Qahtani competed in the second edition of the Miss & Mrs Global Asian beauty pageant, which took place in Malaysia this week. The Mrs Global Asian 2024 title was claimed by Dyan Shane Mag Abo from the Philippines. Bornean model Kimi Tomas, the winner from the previous year, presented the crown to Mag Abo. Jesseca Long of Singapore was crowned as Miss Global Asian 2024. She was given the crown by Miss Global Asian 2023 Gliyam Cundangan from the Philippines. Throughout the competition, which ended on Jan. 27, Al-Qahtani kept her 870,000 Instagram fans posted with updates on her pageant looks. She transitioned through a diverse array of looks, ranging from elegant gowns to sportswear and traditional Saudi attire. “I am honored to participate in the Miss Asia International 2024 competition held in Malaysia,” Al-Qahtani said in a post. Twenty-five contestants from 12 countries and territories competed in this year’s pageant, including Australia, Borneo, India, Indonesia, Japan, Thailand, Philippines, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Myanmar and Malaysia. The competition was organized by Tiara Management and Leading Management, and was held at Hyatt Place Kuala Lumpur. The Mrs Classic Global Asian 2024 title was given to Joanne Lam from Malaysia. The first runner-up was Chihiro Kobayashi from Japan, the second was Rosalinda Busrah from Borneo and the third was Cikta Anori from Malaysia. A number of awards were given to the participants. Mrs Global Aura Ambassador, Darling of The Crowd and Best in Interview awards were given to Lam; Mag Abo received the Best in Evening Gown, Best in Catwalk, Best in National Costume and Popular awards; Anori won the Congeniality Award; India’s Usha Rathod won the Beautiful Body Award; Annie Liew from Borneo received the Photogenic Award; and Japan’s Chihiro Kobayashi won the Best in Welcoming Dinner Outfit and Social Media awards.
