RIYADH: At the Sony Creators Convention, food content creator and Sony ambassador Raneen Joudah said during her talk “Solo Content Creator to Intrapreneur” that having passion is not enough to be a content creator and that, sometimes, being a professional involves working even when motivation is low. During the session on Feb. 3, Joudah, the creative director of Creative Table Studios, shared advice on becoming an entrepreneur, saying: “I usually think that passion is insufficient. It’s not the reason for my consistency, I assure you. I spent eight years working in social media, and my passion wasn’t what drove me at times when I had to film. To be consistent, you need to develop skills that spark your interest, encourage you to keep going, and add other elements that drive you to commit.” Sony Middle East’s Content Creator’s Convention included workshops and panel discussions by experts who highlighted various aspects of content creation. Raneen Joudah , Creative Table Studios creative director She also advised aspiring content creators to start off on their own and build their expertise before progressing to collaborating with a team once clients begin paying for advertisements. “Your content will undoubtedly improve if you can assign a portion of your work to a more qualified individual, but not at the start of your journey, as you need to be well-versed in the material you are producing,” she said.   Joudah encouraged her audience to be selective in choosing which advertisements to accept and to prioritize the authenticity of their work. “Don’t be a billboard,” she said, adding: “Be picky about the advertising you allow,” as big organizations often look for specialized content creators who deliver “unique material.” She ended the session by saying: “Don’t copy; get inspired. If you want to copy someone, do it for yourself only to learn from them and to be inspired. Later, you may take this inspiration and add your own unique touch to make your work distinctively yours.” Sony Middle East hosted the one-day event on Saturday, Feb. 3, at the Garage Center in King Abdullah City, with the goal of empowering social media influencers and performers to produce high-quality material.   A group of experts participated in seminars and debate sessions covering topics including content creation, collaboration among influencers, and the meaning of creativity.
