LONDON: About 25 percent of humanitarian aid delivered to Gaza has passed through Jordan, Interior Minister Mazen Faraya has said, Jordan News Agency reported. The statistic, which shows Jordan’s significant role as a conduit for relief to the enclave, was announced by Faraya during a ceremony for civil service awards in Balqa. Faraya highlighted King Abdullah’s role in mobilizing Jordanian diplomatic efforts to halt Israel’s aggression against Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. Earlier on Sunday, a video was posted showing the monarch taking part in an aid airdrop by the Royal Jordanian Air Force. The aircraft delivered urgent medical supplies to field hospitals run by Jordan in Gaza. Faraya said that Jordan is providing medical care to casualties of the war and their families, and reiterated his government’s stance of allowing peaceful expression of pro-Palestinian views.
