Chelsea will face Barcelona in their Women’s Champions League semi-final after the Spanish side secured a 3-1 second-leg last-eight victory over Brann to win 5-2 on aggregate. Ballon d’Or winner Aitana Bonmatí opened the scoring for the defending champions inside 24 minutes at Barcelona’s Johan Cruyff Stadium, displaying brilliant control of the ball at the edge of the area before unfurling an unstoppable strike to the top-left corner. The hosts doubled their advantage when Fridolina Rolfö tapped home from a spilled save in the 56th minute, but Tomine Svendheim narrowed Brann’s deficit with 20 minutes remaining in the contest with an effort off the base of the post. It took VAR to confirm, but Barça restored their two-goal lead when Patricia Guijarro tapped home two minutes from time. In Thursday’s second quarter-final second leg, Paris Saint-Germain eased into the last four with a 3-0 win against Häcken of Sweden, completing a 5-1 aggregate victory. Tabitha Chawinga opened the scoring at Parc des Princes on 27 minutes, before Korbin Albert and Marie-Antoinette Katoto added goals on 70 and 74 minutes respectively. PSG will take on their French rivals, Lyon, in the semi-finals.
