Al-Ahli secured a thrilling 3-2 victory against Al-Shabab in the final, held at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh on Thursday. Bader Alkadi, Vice Minister of Sport, crowned Al-Ahli as the champions, acknowledging their impressive performance throughout the tournament. Bahian said: “We commend all the participating clubs for their remarkable performances and commitment to the sport. Their efforts serve as an inspiration for the continued advancement of women’s football, and we look forward to witnessing its continued success and progress.” SAFF Women’s Cup showcased the participation of 16 clubs, which were divided into two groups based on their rankings from the previous season. Group One included the eight clubs from the Premier League, while Group Two consisted of the top eight clubs from the First Division. The tournament followed a knockout format, kicking off from the Round of 16. The SAFF Women’s Cup awards took place after the final and acknowledged the standout players during the tournament. Ibtisam Jraidi scored 14 goals and claimed the top scorer title. Alice Kusi of Al-Ahli was named the Best Player for her outstanding skills and contributions to her team’s success. Lindsay Harris from Al-Qadisiyah received the Best Goalkeeper award, showcasing remarkable abilities by conceding only two goals throughout the championship.
