Crown prince receives Spanish prime minister in Jeddah

JEDDAH: Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman received Spanish prime minister Pedro Sanchez at the Al-Salam Royal Palace in Jeddah on Tuesday, Saudi Press Agency reported. They spoke about ways to deal with the security and humanitarian repercussions of the Israeli offensive and how to advance the peace process in accordance with recent resolutions of the Security Council and the United Nations General Assembly. The crown prince and Sanchez disuccsed the need to implement the Arab Peace Initiative aimed at finding a just and comprehensive solution to the crisis and establishing an independent Palestinian state based on 1967 borders, with its capital as East Jerusalem. Several Saudi ministers also attended the meeting, including foreign minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, defense minister Prince Khalid bin Salman, energy minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman and sports minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki.  Spanish officials who attended the reception included secretary of state for the Secretariat of Economic Affairs and the G20 Manuel de la Rocha Pazquez, the secretary-general of the General Secretariat for Foreign Affairs of the Prime Minister Emma Aparrethe Pazquez de Braga and Spain’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia Jorge Ibia Serra.
