RIYADH: The Saudi aid agency KSrelief on Tuesday made a contribution of $10 million to the UN World Food Programme to support its operations in Ukraine. The agreement was signed between Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, supervisor-general of KSrelief, and Cindy McCain, the WFP’s executive director. Under the project, food assistance will be provided through the distribution of meals to orphanages, hospitals, and displacement centers in Ukraine, benefiting 141,000 individuals from the most vulnerable groups affected by the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. This comes as an extension of the relief and humanitarian efforts carried out by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the KSrelief, to alleviate the suffering of the affected and displaced persons and to support food security in various countries worldwide, in cooperation with specialized UN agencies.
