National Center for Non-Profit Sector implements regulatory actions

The National Center for Non-Profit Sector has taken several regulatory actions against various entities and individuals within the non-profit sector. These measures include issuing warnings to four non-profit organizations and making dismissal decisions for the boards of directors of another four organizations. Additionally, an individual has been temporarily barred from working in the non-profit sector. In terms of fundraising activities, the Center has identified violations, resulting in three sanctions against individuals and two against non-profit entities. Moreover, four commercial entities have been referred to the Public Prosecution, and ten to the Presidency of State Security for related infractions. As of March 2024, the non-profit sector has seen notable growth with the registration of 57 new non-profit organizations, seven non-profit organizations, and eight family organizations across various developmental fields. This expansion brings the total to 4,721 non-profit organizations commencing operations within Saudi Arabia. The Center highlighted the sector"s progression, including an increase in volunteer engagement and the number of units under technical supervision in governmental bodies. The improvement in governance among non-profit organizations is particularly noteworthy, with 2023 witnessing significant advancements in governance levels. This underscores the sector"s adherence to developmental roles and compliance with laws, regulations, and procedures. The Center emphasized the critical importance of both individuals and organizations within the non-profit sector following the established laws, regulations, guidelines, and procedures to ensure continued growth and effectiveness in their developmental contributions.
