Saudi authorities prepare for Eid Al-Fitr prayers at Two Holy Mosques

JEDDAH: The Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah will receive worshipers for Eid Al-Fitr prayers after completing preparations, the Presidency of Religious Affairs in Saudi Arabia has said. The Two Holy Mosques have been prepared with with a package of religious services “to enrich the experience of those visiting the mosques and to create a devotional atmosphere filled with reverence and tranquility,” the Saudi Press Agency reported, citing the presidency. Sheikh Abdullah Al-Souli, the supervisor of the affairs of imams and muezzins, guidance and counseling at the presidency, said: “The Presidency of Religious Affairs is fully prepared to receive worshipers for the blessed Eid Al-Fitr prayer, through an integrated religious system that enhances the awareness aspect and guidance of visitors.” The presidency has allocated translators for visitors and worshipers in multiple languages. They can be accessed through booths or via free telephones inside the Grand Mosque. Eminent scholars will also provide lessons in the Grand Mosque on Zakat Al-Fitr — an obligatory charitable donation that must be given at the end of Ramadan before the Eid prayer, as well as various religious sciences. The presidency announced that Sheikh Saleh bin Abdullah bin Humaid will be the imam of the Eid Al-Fitr prayer and deliver the Eid sermon at the Grand Mosque at 6:20 a.m., while Sheikh Ahmed bin Ali Al-Hudhaifi will be the imam at the Prophet’s Mosque at 6:19 a.m.
