RIYADH: The Red Sea Fund announced the launch of the second phase of its fourth cycle, dedicated to supporting film projects in the production stage. It runs until April 30, the Saudi Press Agency reported. The fund encourages bold and original ideas that embrace a rich and diverse range of subjects, informing, educating and entertaining global audiences. It accepts feature fiction, documentary, episodic or animation films from applicants. The fund now accepts applications from directors of Arab and African origin and nationality. This includes feature-length fiction projects (minimum length 60 minutes), documentaries and animation projects. The fund supports film projects ready for production, including feature films (no shorter than 60 minutes), whether fiction or animation, by Arab directors or those of Arab origin or African nationality. Additionally, the fund supports series (25-59 minutes per episode) by Arab directors or those of Arab origin or African nationality, along with short films (less than 60 minutes), whether fiction, documentary or animation, by Saudi directors. The Red Sea Fund, a leading force in the world of Arab and African film financing, operates through four cycles to support projects in the development, production and post-production stages. Those interested in applying for the second phase of the fund can register via the following link: https://redseafilmfest.com/ar/red-sea-fund/ . Last month, the Red Sea International Film Festival hosted an interactive online webinar to engage filmmakers on their projects. Dubbed “Ask the Fund,” the webinar saw the Red Sea Fund team address inquiries from filmmakers seeking support for their cinematic projects and those interested in taking part in the film festival.
