Perhaps the first week of the Cannes film festival would be a good time for Labour to announce its intention to rejoin Eurimages, the Council of Europe’s film and television funding institution. The UK’s withdrawal from this and other European cultural institutions has served no purpose other than to place British creators at a disadvantage compared with their European counterparts. Bernard Besserglik Pantin, France Potholes, fly-tipping and faulty streetlights can all be reported with an exact location and a photo on the FixMyStreet app. Why not a similar service for water and sewage? It would help the Environment Agency monitor problems and avoid our reports to water companies being “lost”. I’d chip in to a crowdfund. FixOurCrap, anyone?
