Saudi Arabia has once again been elected to lead the Executive Council of the Arab Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO). Hani Al-Muqbel, a member of the Executive Council, has been chosen as Chairman for the 2024-2026 term by a majority vote, marking the third consecutive time Saudi Arabia has held this position. Qatar and Jordan were elected as Vice-Chairman and Rapporteur, respectively. During its previous terms, Saudi Arabia"s leadership resulted in significant positive outcomes and fostered a collaborative spirit within ALECSO. The country"s tenure, extending nearly three years since July 2021, has been marked by substantial advancements in educational, cultural, and scientific fields across the Arab region. The member countries of the Executive Council have praised the progress made under Saudi leadership, describing it as a pivotal shift in the council"s history. Saudi Arabia has implemented strategies that enhanced the council"s efficiency and transformed its vision into concrete achievements. These efforts have been aligned with the organization"s broader goals and the specific needs of its member states. Al-Muqbel expressed gratitude for the continued trust and support from the member states, emphasizing Saudi Arabia"s commitment to strengthening relationships within the organization and advancing collective Arab interests. "We clearly appreciate their vote for Saudi Arabia, which is still keen to strengthen relations at the level of organization’s member states and make decisions that suit the aspirations of the Arab," Al-Muqbel stated, looking forward to achieving more joint Arab successes through unified efforts.
