All four organizations provide critical humanitarian aid, including food and medical programs, assistance for displaced families, and psychological support. The PCRF has thanked the sisters for their “astounding generosity.” The Hadid family, originally from Nazareth, have been outspoken supporters of Palestine throughout their careers. The donation follows Bella’s recent appearance at the Cannes Film Festival where she wore a dress made out of a red and white keffiyeh, a scarf which has become a symbol of Palestinian resistance. She described it as “a beautiful way to represent the history, labor of love, resilience and, most importantly, the art of historic Palestinian embroidery.”
