Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan emphasized significant progress in Saudi-Turkish relations across political, economic, and security domains. During his official visit to the Republic of Türkiye, Prince Faisal announced the signing of a protocol to amend the minutes establishing the Coordination Council, with plans for the second coordination meeting in Riyadh soon. This reflects the leadership"s commitment to advancing relations in all areas of mutual interest, he said. Anticipating enhanced economic cooperation, Prince Faisal welcomed the upcoming council session in Riyadh to foster effective partnerships. In a press conference in Istanbul following meetings with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Prince Faisal highlighted that bilateral trade reached $6.8 billion in 2023, marking a 15% increase from the previous year. Discussions with his Turkish counterpart also covered regional issues, notably the Palestinian cause and Israeli actions in Gaza. Both countries affirmed aligned political stances aimed at revitalizing the regional peace process. Prince Faisal underscored joint efforts to halt Israeli aggression, prevent Palestinian displacement, facilitate humanitarian aid to Gaza, and uphold the Palestinian right to self-determination through the establishment of an independent state recognized internationally.
