Minister of Economy and Planning, Faisal Al-Ibrahim, delivered a speech during the session “Addressing Gaps and Trilateral Cooperation” at the G20 Ministerial Development Meeting held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. “Half of the world’s population lacks access to basic health services and social protection, and ensuring access to public services is the cornerstone of human capital development, including health care, education, housing, social protection, and digital connectivity,” Al-Ibrahim said. He added: “Inequality is at the core of the challenges we face in the context of sustainable development, as the gap in opportunities between individuals represents the main challenge in improving health care and education and addressing the most prominent social challenges facing the world today.”
