Paul Feig is one of the most exciting directors of the last 20 years, especially if comedies are your bag. His biggest break came with 2011’s Bridesmaids, which went on to be nominated for a Golden Globe for best comedy with an Oscar nomination for Melissa McCarthy for best supporting actress. Their collaboration continued with 2013’s buddy cop comedy The Heat and 2015’s Spy which was nominated for a Golden Globe for best comedy and best comedy actress for McCarthy. In 2016, Feig co-wrote and directed the female-led reboot of Ghostbusters starring – you guessed it – Melissa McCarthy. The film attracted criticism from some more – ahem – traditionalist fans, but The Guardian’s Peter Bradshaw described it as “persistently hilarious” in his four-star review. In new action comedy Jackpot, Feig has swapped McCarthy for John Cena and Stifler from American Pie (Seann William Scott). So you might like to ask him if he’s missing his bestie as we tee up the director in one of those director chairs for our next reader interview. As an actor, he’s has cameos in Knocked Up and Naked Gun 33+1/3: The Final Insult. On telly, he’s directed episodes of The Office US, Weeds and Arrested Development. So, plenty to ask. Please post your Qs below by 6pm BST on Sunday 4 August and we’ll print his answers later that month.
