Abdulrahman Al-Thuwaini, 38, dies after bike hits side of a bridge and plunges 8 to 10 meters into river RIYADH: Abdulrahman Al-Thuwaini, a Saudi math teacher from Qassim, died while on vacation in Turkiye when the motorcycle he was riding plunged from a bridge in the Caykara district of Trabzon Province, news channel Al-Arabiya reported. In a message posted on social media platform X, Abdulrahman Al-Oqla, a former security advisor at the Saudi Interior Ministry and retired colonel, said the accident happened on the Uzungol-Caykara highway at about 10 p.m. local time on Monday. While traveling from Uzungol to the center of Trabzon, 38-year-old Al-Thuwaini apparently failed to take a turn and hit the concrete barriers on the side of the bridge before falling from a height of 8-10 meters, he added. Emergency services found Al-Thuwaini’s body in a river under the bridge and it was taken to the Trabzon Institute of Forensic Medicine. As news of the teacher’s death spread, students and others in the community expressed their sadness and paid tribute to him.
