Saudi Arabia takes part in GCC Civil Aviation Committee meeting in Qatar

Saudi Arabia, represented by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), participated in the 20th meeting of the Executive Committee of Civil Aviation of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. The delegation was headed by GACA President Abdulaziz Al-Duailej. The meeting was hosted by Qatar, represented by the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the GCC, and with the participation of all members of the GCC countries. Al-Duailej said that the meeting aims to unify aspects of existing cooperation between GCC countries with regard to civil aviation affairs among member states, which helps support the civil aviation industry in the region and unify efforts and positions. The meeting agenda included discussing the mechanism of cooperation between civil aviation authorities in the GCC countries regarding the unified program for assessing the safety of foreign aircraft. The meeting also discussed the latest developments in establishing the unified upper domain for the GCC countries, where recommendations were raised regarding the technical specifications for establishing the unified Gulf network for communications in the field of navigation and studying the economic feasibility of establishing this network. The meeting also reviewed a number of topics, most notably the culture of aviation security, training and exchange of expertise, and the achievements of the GCC countries in the air navigation and aviation sector.
