Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman will lead the Saudi delegation attending the Summit of the European Union-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), which will be held in Brussels, Belgium, on Wednesday, Oct. 16. This is in line with the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, the Saudi Press Agency reported. The Crown Prince on Tuesday visited Cairo where he held wide-ranging talks with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. During the official talk session, the two leaders reviewed the strategic bilateral relations between the two countries and explored ways to strengthen them in various fields. They also discussed topics related to the Arab and Islamic arenas, as well as developments in the Middle East, particularly efforts to address the region"s security and stability. On the sidelines of the meeting, the two leaders witnessed the signing of the minutes to create the Saudi-Egyptian Supreme Coordination Council and the agreement to promote and protect mutual investments between Saudi Arabia and Egypt. The minutes were signed by Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty. The investment promotion agreement was signed by the Minister of Investment Eng. Khalid Al-Falih and Egyptian Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El-Khatib. Later, upon his departure from Cairo, the Crown Prince sent a cable of thanks to Sisi, in which he appreciated the Egyptian president for the warm reception and generous hospitality accorded to him and the accompanying delegation during their visit to Egypt. “This visit and the discussions that we held with Your Excellency have confirmed the strength of the fraternal relations between our two countries, and the common desire to enhance cooperation between them in all fields as well as to work on continuing coordination and consultation on issues of common interest in a way serving the interests of the two countries and their peoples,” the Crown Prince said in the cable.
