A National Audit Office report found there has been no signs of improvement in the lives of children with special educational needs (SEN) despite funding reaching record levels. After a 58 percent increase in real-terms funding from 2014-15 to 2024-25, the National Audit Office wrote, “the system is still not delivering better outcomes for children and young people or preventing local authorities from facing significant financial risks.” Richard Kramer, chief executive of complex disability charity Sense, raised concerns about financial difficulties for parents and said some “end up leaving their own careers to fight for their children’s basic rights.” We want to hear from you. Are you a UK parent, school leader, teacher or support worker with experience navigating the special educational needs system? What are your thoughts on SEN support?
