US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson kicked off a second visit to Saudi Arabia in a new attempt to resolve the crisis between Qatar and the four boycotting Arab countries that accuse Doha of backing and funding terrorism. The US official is scheduled to hold talks with Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir before heading to Qatar. Discussions in Saudi Arabia will focus on the possibility renewing efforts to end the diplomatic and economic boycott of Qatar by the Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt. Prior to his arrival in Riyadh, Tillerson had voiced his skepticism to Bloomberg news agency over finding a fast solution to the crisis. Besides Saudi Arabia and Qatar, his six-day tour will take him to Pakistan, India and Switzerland.
