At least 75 civilians were killed on Saturday in a car bombing by the terrorist ISIS group in Syria’s Deir al-Zour region, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights on Sunday. Director of the Observatory Rami Abdulrahman said that so far, 75 civilian victims, including children, have been recovered. Over 140 people were injured in the blast. The Observatory said on Saturday that dozens of people were killed in the bombing that targeted refugees, who had fled various clashes in Deir al-Zour. They had sought refuge in a desert region in an area east of the Euphrates River that is controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). Deir al-Zour is witnessing two military operations against ISIS. The first is being led by the Syrian regime, backed by Russian forces, on the western banks of the Euphrates. The second is led by the SDF, backed by the US, on the eastern side of the river, which bisects the region.
