Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz arrived to Riyadh on Saturday, coming from Medina after inaugurating a number of development projects in the region. The King and the attendees watched a visual presentation of the projects that were launched. They included 21 projects in the sectors of electricity, agriculture, water, education and transportation at a total cost exceeding SAR7 billion. King Salman was received at the airport by Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz, Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdul-Aziz, Governor of Riyadh Region, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, as well as other princes. At the airport lounge, a number of scholars, ministers and military sectors leaders including Lebanese outgoing prime minister Saad Hariri. In a statement released late Saturday evening, the Future bloc said it condemned campaigns against Saudi Arabia and its leadership. “The bloc considers these campaigns to be part of a scheme to degrade national stability and in this regard [the bloc] affirms the brotherly relationship with the kingdom,” the statement said. It added that “The bloc rejects any outbidding over it and Prime Minister Hariri in terms of the kingdom’s love and loyalty for its historical role in supporting Lebanon.” “[The bloc] condemns the assaults that are targeting the Kingdom by Iran’s proxies in Yemen and other countries and calls for curbing these assaults and interferences,” the statement added. It called for a unified Arab position regarding Iranian policies which puts Iran before the consequences of its actions. Stances expressed by Lebanese officials on Saturday showed a division regarding the right means to deal with the crisis. As Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea said “To all those of March 8 coalition shedding tears over Hariris absence...If you truly want his return to Lebanon it only requires a single decision of withdrawing from the crises in the region.” Meanwhile, Lebanese Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil assured that the situation in Lebanon is under control.
