Arab justice ministers underlined on Thursday the necessity of stepping up cooperation among Arab countries in the field of sharing information on terrorism. The call was given in a statement issued at the wrapping-up of the 33rd session of the Council of Arab Justice Ministers in Cairo, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). They emphasized that no frank or tacit backing should be given to entities and persons involved in terrorist acts, and that all forms of blackmailing by terrorist groups, including threatening, killing or ransom, should be rejected. The Arab countries should adopt agreements on the fight against terrorism with a view to promoting anti-crime measures, according to the final communique. The national arrangements and mechanisms have to be adopted in order to ensure the effective blocking of ill-gotten funds or funds used in the financing of terrorism, it said. They also condemned all terrorist attacks in Arab countries, and decried terrorism regardless of manifestations and sources, it added.
