Kuwait announced on Saturday the delivery of all invitations to the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council to attend the 38th Gulf Summit, which will be held this Tuesday and Wednesday. On Friday, Kuwait sent official invitations to Qatar and Oman to attend the summit, amid tension resulting from the Gulf dispute with Qatar, which is accused of supporting terrorism and contributing to the spread of chaos in the region. However, there has been no announcement in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, indicating that leaders of these countries have received an invitation to attend the Kuwait summit or that they have agreed to attend the Summit with Qatari Emir before resolving the crisis between their countries and Doha. Last week, Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al Sabah paid a visit to Riyadh, where he delivered a message to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques from the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah. This came two days after the Emir of Kuwait received the Qatari Emir’s brothers, Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad and Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad, who conveyed a verbal message from Sheikh Tamim to the Kuwaiti Emir. Meanwhile, Kuwait’s official news agency (KUNA) on Saturday quoted an official sources at the Kuwaiti foreign ministry as saying that Kuwait has already completed the delivery of invitations from Sheikh Sabah to the GCC leaders to attend the 38th GCC Summit. The sources added that the invitations were handed to Gulf leaders by Kuwaiti ambassadors in GCC member states.
