The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) stressed on Monday its support for the Yemeni people’s uprising against the Houthi militias, saying that it was closely monitoring the developments in the capital Sana’a, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). It welcomed the call for dialogue among all factions concerned with resolving the Yemeni crisis, adding that it backs the Yemeni’s people’s aspirations for the unity and security of their country. The OIC underlined its constant support for the legitimate authority in Yemen, saying that the crisis can be resolved through the Gulf initiatives and their mechanisms of implementation, the comprehensive national dialogue outcomes and related United Nations Security Council resolutions. It hoped that Yemen would overcome its crisis so that it can once again return to playing its central role away from sectarian agendas and in a manner that serves the interests of the region and Muslim nation.
