Tunisian security forces have arrested a Takfiri wanted by the judicial authorities over terrorism cases, including a 12-year jail term for involvement in terrorist activities. The takfiri was arrested on Thursday in the city of Guerdane southeast of Tunisia. Ben Gardane has been the scene of deadly confrontations between security forces and terrorists belonging to ISIS extremist group in March 2016. During the clashes, around 55 terrorists were killed and 10 arrested. Security forces and the army also arrested 25 people on suspicion of involvement in the attacks. After the clashes, terrorists formed sleeper networks. Meanwhile, Tunisian defense ministry spokesman Belhassen Oueslati said the military is pursuing 20 terrorist elements in an area in Kasserine Governorate that lies in central Tunisia. The area also witnessed at the end of November confrontations between military units and terrorist elements that left one militant dead.
